善通寺本部分団屯所

善通寺の商店街エリアを統括する消防団の屯所である。

消防屯所は、地域の消火活動の拠点として、また火の用心のための見回りの詰所や災害時の待機場所としての役割を担う防災拠点である。一方で、若者たちが地域を考える拠点となることも少なくない。地域の活動への参加が乏しくなりつつある現代において、その拠点を新築することには大きな意味がある。

消防ホースをメンテナンスするための壁や、消防車を格納する建屋を持つことから、コンクリート打ち放しとし、また善通寺という歴史地区に溶け込ませるために、できるだけ低い軒と緩やかな屋根勾配を設定した。

This is a fire department where controls the shopping district of Zentsuji.

This station normally serves as a base for firefighter to stand-by and people to evacuate when disaster happens.  On the other hand, this base would be a place for youth to know about the region.  Since poorness of participations of local activities are becoming real issues in this area, this place might be a chance to bring locals and gives meanings to acknowledge the region.

A wall for maintain the fire hose and storing the fire engine, the wall had to be construct in exposed concrete. The eaves were set as low as possible to fit into this historical district of Zentsuji  where mostly constructed with low buildings.
